Intrepid explorers during ancient times sailed the seas in search of adventure and fortune, facing great dangers in their fragile wooden vessels. Names like Hanno the Carthaginian; Pytheas of Massalia; and Eudoxus of Cyzicus will echo in eternity for their bravery and the distant shores they discovered.

The Egyptian Society of South Africa invites you to attend this year’s Day School at the Hellenic Community Hall, Mountain Road in Woodstock, on Saturday, July 25, from 9.45am to 4pm, to enjoy three lectures by Professor Sebastian van As, Professor Philip Bosman, and Mr Joseph Koetsier.

Tickets cost R375 each and include a tea/coffee break with Greek biscuits and a three-course Greek-style buffet lunch. Bookings are open until July 16. Email Jos Koetsier on at Sherab.koetsier@gmail.com for further information.
